Intro to Yoga Series: FAQs

The current series has sold out.  Don't miss your chance to join a future series!  Get on the list to be the first to learn when new dates are announced:

Is this series appropriate for beginner yoga?

Yes! This beginner-friendly series will help you build the foundations of a yoga practice. You will learn foundational yoga poses, breath and meditation techniques, and important yogic concepts. My goal is that you feel comfortable and excited about continuing a yoga practice.

Is this series only for beginners?

Nope! This series is for anyone wanting to refine their practice by focusing on the fundamentals. Has anyone ever really taught you how to do Downward Dog? This series will. Is meditation a bit baffling? We'll practice and learn together. Can't get comfortable in Savasana? Let's fix that. ALL are welcome in this series.

What will the classes include?

Each 75min. class will include a short educational session; a guided practice that includes movement, breath, meditation and rest; and a group discussion. We’ll spend time learning yoga poses and techniques and discussing the purpose and history of yoga. Our small group format will allow for individualized support, learning from each other, and building community.

What will the bonus private yoga session include?

Your registration includes a 45min. private yoga session with me, to complement our weekly group classes. A private yoga session is designed entirely around you. You can use this time to discuss individual questions, to dive deeper or "troubleshoot" any pose or technique we've been working on, or simply enjoy a class made just for you. This bonus session is a $75 value, included free with your series purchase. We will discuss scheduling details in our first group class.

I have a medical condition, injury, pregnancy, or something else going on... Is this series a good fit for me?

If you are currently being treated for a medical concern, please check with your doctor first. If you are cleared to participate, then this small group series would be a great fit. Everyone has unique needs, and in this format I can give personal guidance and attention to each participant. I'd love to help you personalize the practice for you.

Do I need to bring anything for class?

You only need a yoga mat. I will have yoga blocks, straps and bolsters available. If you need a mat, I recommend www.yogaoutlet.com.

Where will the classes be held?

House of Tao is a new community wellness space in Covington KY. It's been beautifully renovated and despite being in downtown Covington, it's quiet and peaceful. Free parking is available. Please note access involves one flight of stairs - there is no elevator.

Do you have any other questions? Please send me an email and I'll get right back to you.
